This class will invite participants to investigate their movement potential as experienced through the lens of myofascial work, proprioception, and the development of equanimity and empathy with one’s body. Mindfulness of the body will allow us to examine and nurture our relationship with ourselves and with our humanity. The goal is to investigate the interaction of our bodies and our community to promote our self awareness as creative citizens.Participants are encouraged to bring tennis balls and yoga mats. 1pm- Aging in Space w/Janet Lilly Adults, 50+
A creative movement workshop celebrating the lived-in experience of movers over 50 years old. The workshop is designed for anyone who enjoys moving- including artists, athletes, dancers, dog-walkers, and those who like a good wiggle. After a simple warm-up, participants will explore interior and exterior spatial awareness through movement and creative prompts that tap into the lived life of the body as we evolve. *no dance experience required. Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in and if possible, a blanket and yoga mat. Live musical accompaniment by James Mead.
3pm- passing through w/Kara Brody Intermediate/Advanced
Come as you are, and move as you need. This low-stakes gathering offers a high-play environment pulling from post-modern, somatic, and release based forms. We will activate the space through a series of short sequences that progress from the floor to standing. With an emphasis on finding efficient ways of moving, this class cycles through momentum driven physicality that is often off-centered, in spiral, and grounded. Those with a movement background are highly encouraged for this class. *Participants are encouraged to bring pants and/or knee pads

Open the visceral door of your body and join award winning movement artist Nejla Yatkin for a gentle movement exploration inspired by patterns in nature. Harness the power of your imagination and explore your unique movement vocabulary through multiple movement practices. Through improvisation and structured exercises, discover new pathways of self-expression and connection to the natural world. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes. 3pm- Kathak - Indian Classical Dance Workshop w/Varsha Prasad Introductory/Beginner
Kathak is an ancient traditional artform of India. In this workshop, you will be learning a little bit of history of the artform, rhythm, footwork and some basic technical movements. You will also learn some interesting hand gestures and facial expressions that are used in Indian Classical dance forms. Please come with bare feet, neatly tied up hair, comfortable clothing like Salwar kameez or loose t-shirts and yoga pants.

This All Ages class takes modern Broadway shows and uses pop-infused dance to energize the songs and lyrics.

This is a workshop in exploration- the exploration of weight, sensation, individuality, and collaboration. Utilizing improvisation, while working with an underlying line and grounded technique. With contact partnering, we will sense what stirs our bodies as we explore individual and group partnering.
3pm- VOGUE the Elements w/Damon Green All Ages
Vogue is a structural improvisational dance style/ form commonly practiced in a specific black and brown LGBTQ+ community. Within this technique there are specific elements, such as, walking (Runway, Catwalk and Duck walk), Spins, Dips (Dramatic and Soft) and Performance (Hands, Floor, Arm Control) that make up the Vogue aesthetic.

An introduction to Iyengar yoga asanas (poses) as a mind and body practice that develops somatic (mind/body) awareness. Please bring two blankets that fold well and a yoga mat.
10:30am- Contemporary Dance and Karaoke w/Melinda Jean Myers Intermediate/Advanced
This class will work at the pre-professional/professional level in release-based contemporary dance technique and singing/sounding (no voice training required). We will begin by playing and rolling on the floor with movement and sound improvisation to deepen our sense of weight transfer, efficiency, multi-directionality, and momentum. The second half of class will be dedicated to learning highly detailed and physical phrase work while being invited to sing, shout and make noise throughout class. 1pm- Embrace Your Essence: A Journey of Liberationw/Charlique Rolle Adults, Open Level
Step into a 90-minute exploration of self-discovery and empowerment with "Embrace Your Essence." In this unique workshop, we'll delve into the transformative power of movement, photography, and journaling to uncover the beauty of our authentic selves. Journaling prompts will guide participants in reflecting on their experiences, fostering self-awareness and compassion. Together, we'll integrate movement, photography, and journaling into a creative exploration, culminating in collaborative movement pieces that reflect the richness of our individual journeys. Whether you're new to movement or an experienced practitioner, this workshop offers a welcoming space to connect with your body, creativity, and truth. Join us on this journey of self-discovery, where every movement, every image, and every word is an opportunity to embrace the essence of who you are. Participants are encouraged to bring journal, pen/paper.
3pm- Lyrical w/Amanda List Intermediate, 16+
This 75 minute class will consist of: 15-20 minute warm up, skills across the floor, and 45 minutes of choreography in the style of Lyrical. Come get expressive, tap into your emotions while allowing your body to tell the story through movement.
